ABOUT THE PROJECT

In response to the urgent need to support the food security sector in Lebanon, Environment and Sustainable Development Unit (ESDU), AUB in partnership with the Lebanese League for Women in Business (LLWB), The Food Heritage Foundation, and Zico House joined efforts to launch ''Ardi Ardak'', a national food security initiative. Ardi Ardak aims at reviving the food security sector by focusing on small -scale holders with a special emphasis on rural women, by offering urban consumers access to local healthy food and by promoting sustainable agriculture.

Ardi Ardak Initiative received money from Lebanon and abroad. Food parcels were prepared accordingly and delivered throughout Lebanon. 100 boxes were distributed in the Karantina area. In addition, Ardi Ardak has an industrial kitchen in Khiara, the food relief platform.
